It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,041.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Cadogan Cowper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 469,250.00 (€ 561,993.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Elizabeth Witts, daughter of Lieutenant-General Frederick Vavasour Broom Witts (1889-1969) von Frank Cadogan Cowper kam im September 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.041,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Cadogan Cowper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 469.250,00 (€ 561.993,16).
