Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Miniature by Frank Avray Wilson was worth GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,757.62) to a buyer in September 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Made in Britain at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Avray Wilson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wish, which sold at auction in March 2012 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,982.23).

Die Arbeit Miniature von Frank Avray Wilson war einem Käufer im September 2019 GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.757,62) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Avray Wilson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wish beobachtet, die im März 2012 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.982,23) versteigert wurde.
