Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Untitled (Turquoise and Red) by Frank Avray Wilson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 637.50 (€ 747.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Avray Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wish in March 2012 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,982.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Turquoise and Red) von Frank Avray Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 637,50 (€ 747,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Avray Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wish im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.982,23).
