Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Francisco Toledo could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Peces en el lodo changed hands for USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,708.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francisco Toledo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Meu Xubi in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,040,000.00 (€ 943,824.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francisco Toledo konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Peces en el lodo für USD 63.000,00 (€ 58.708,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francisco Toledo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Meu Xubi im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.040.000,00 (€ 943.824,30).
