Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Untitled, from Eel Series by Francesca Woodman was worth USD 21,420.00 (€ 20,328.37) to a buyer in April last year. This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Francesca Woodman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Polka Dots in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,291.80).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Untitled, from Eel Series von Francesca Woodman war einem Käufer im April letzten Jahres USD 21.420,00 (€ 20.328,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesca Woodman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Polka Dots im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.291,80).
