Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled, New York (N.F.430) by Francesca Woodman. The price achieved of USD 22,860.00 (€ 21,631.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesca Woodman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Polka Dots in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,291.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, New York (N.F.430) von Francesca Woodman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.860,00 (€ 21.631,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesca Woodman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Polka Dots im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.291,80).
