In October 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Ali Underwater by Flip Schulke. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,940.00 (€ 20,723.68), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Flip Schulke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Muhammad Ali Boxing Underwater, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,038.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ali Underwater von Flip Schulke zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 20.723,68) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Flip Schulke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Muhammad Ali Boxing Underwater beobachtet, die im November 2008 für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 45.038,05) versteigert wurde.
