The work Sol y tractor II by Fernando Zóbel was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 214,081.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Admittedly, works by Fernando Zóbel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Retiro in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 859,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sol y tractor II von Fernando Zóbel kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 214.081,99) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Zóbel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Retiro im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 859.500,00.
