Upper estimate price exceeded by 59 %.
The work Iessona by Fernando Zóbel was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 4,773,000.00 (€ 530,930.14), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 59%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fernando Zóbel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Retiro sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of EUR 859,500.00.

Die Arbeit Iessona von Fernando Zóbel kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 4.773.000,00 (€ 530.930,14) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 59%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Fernando Zóbel; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Retiro im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 859.500,00.
