A top price for Fernando Zóbel
This artwork by Fernando Zóbel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Art Contemporain Evening Sale auction, the work Retiro sold for EUR 859,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 340,000.00. This high result makes Retiro the most expensive artwork by Fernando Zóbel that we have observed at auctions so far.
