Upper estimate price exceeded by 37 %.
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Almendros by Fernando Zóbel. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,638,000.00 (€ 182,204.81), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fernando Zóbel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Retiro in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 859,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Almendros von Fernando Zóbel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.638.000,00 (€ 182.204,81) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Zóbel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Retiro im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 859.500,00.
