In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Naranja Y Gris by Fernando Zóbel. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 119,639.08), 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fernando Zóbel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Retiro in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 859,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Naranja Y Gris von Fernando Zóbel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 119.639,08) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Zóbel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Retiro im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 859.500,00.
