Die Arbeit An Angel Appearing To An Old Man von Ferdinand Bol kam im Juli 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.711,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Bol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.189.000,00 (€ 7.356.259,16).
