It achieved a price of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,197.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Sloane - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vermont December, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 55,000.00 (€ 34,799.11).

Die Arbeit Heading South 10,000 von Eric Sloane kam im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.197,61) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Sloane mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vermont December beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 55.000,00 (€ 34.799,11) versteigert wurde.
