Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homage to Aix, 1959 by Emerson Woelffer was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2020. The price achieved of USD 6,075.00 (€ 5,184.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emerson Woelffer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 7th Street, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,848.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Homage to Aix, 1959 von Emerson Woelffer wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.075,00 (€ 5.184,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Emerson Woelffer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 7th Street beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.848,34) versteigert wurde.
