Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rain and the Poet, 1977 by Emerson Woelffer was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of USD 5,737.50 (€ 5,197.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emerson Woelffer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 7th Street, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,848.34).
