This artwork by Emerson Woelffer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work Madrid, 1958 sold for USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,470.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emerson Woelffer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 7th Street sold at auction in January 2011 with the realized price of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,848.34).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Emerson Woelffer erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Madrid, 1958 für USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.470,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emerson Woelffer; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 7th Street im Januar 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.848,34).
