Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Two Logs by Ellen Altfest. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,910.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ellen Altfest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Tree, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 61,875.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Logs von Ellen Altfest zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.910,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ellen Altfest mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Tree beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 80.500,00 (€ 61.875,48) versteigert wurde.
