Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pining by Elizabeth Magill was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in London in March 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,997.34) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Elizabeth Magill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Heartland in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 55,950.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pining von Elizabeth Magill wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.997,34) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elizabeth Magill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Heartland im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 55.950,01).
