Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Clonmany by Elizabeth Magill was sold in the Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The price achieved of GBP 13,860.00 (€ 15,282.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Magill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heartland, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 55,950.01).
