Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Glen Canyon' by Eliot Porter was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2016. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,271.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eliot Porter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trees, 1958-1975 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,933.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Glen Canyon' von Eliot Porter kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.271,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eliot Porter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trees, 1958-1975 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.933,20).
