Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Intimate Landscapes by Eliot Porter was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April 2021. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,379.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eliot Porter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trees, 1958-1975, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,933.20).
