In March 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Sketch For Six Dead Leaves; Study For Cape Gooseberries; Sketch For Eight Feathers by Eliot Hodgkin. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,693.81), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eliot Hodgkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Violets II in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sketch For Six Dead Leaves; Study For Cape Gooseberries; Sketch For Eight Feathers von Eliot Hodgkin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.693,81) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eliot Hodgkin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Violets II im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89).
