Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Eliot Hodgkin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Black and White Grapes sold for GBP 25,500.00 (€ 29,623.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eliot Hodgkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Violets II, which sold at auction in September 2000 for GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eliot Hodgkin erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Black and White Grapes für GBP 25.500,00 (€ 29.623,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eliot Hodgkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Violets II beobachtet, die im September 2000 für GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89) versteigert wurde.
