Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Shelf 17.3 x 44.4 cm. (6 3/4 x 17 1/2 in.) by Eliot Hodgkin was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 22,248.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eliot Hodgkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Violets II, which sold at auction in September 2000 for GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the Shelf 17.3 x 44.4 cm. (6 3/4 x 17 1/2 in.) von Eliot Hodgkin kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 22.248,62) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eliot Hodgkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Violets II beobachtet, die im September 2000 für GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89) versteigert wurde.
