Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Eliot Hodgkin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June this year. In the Modern British & Irish Art auction, the work Irises sold for GBP 46,080.00 (€ 53,629.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Eliot Hodgkin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Violets II sold at auction in September 2000 with the realized price of GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eliot Hodgkin erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Irises für GBP 46.080,00 (€ 53.629,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Eliot Hodgkin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Violets II im September 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89).
