Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Eliot Hodgkin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Three Big Flints (Pleshey) sold for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 44,036.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Eliot Hodgkin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Violets II sold at auction in September 2000 with the realized price of GBP 51,700.00 (€ 86,509.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eliot Hodgkin erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Three Big Flints (Pleshey) für GBP 37.800,00 (€ 44.036,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Eliot Hodgkin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Violets II im September 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 51.700,00 (€ 86.509,89).
