Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Still Life - "Two Jugs" by Elaine Haxton. The price achieved of AUD 13,800.00 (€ 8,313.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elaine Haxton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Bay, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Still Life - "Two Jugs" von Elaine Haxton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 13.800,00 (€ 8.313,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Bay beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37) versteigert wurde.
