Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian pittwater by Elaine Haxton for AUD 34,800.00 (€ 20,314.43). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Elaine Haxton have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2001 by the work Double Bay at AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Australian pittwater von Elaine Haxton für AUD 34.800,00 (€ 20.314,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2001 die Arbeit Double Bay mit AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37).
