Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Rhino Evening by Elaine de Kooning was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 27,720.00 (€ 28,334.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine de Kooning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Bison/Blue Horse in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 562,500.00 (€ 479,008.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rhino Evening von Elaine de Kooning kam im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 27.720,00 (€ 28.334,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine de Kooning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Bison/Blue Horse im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 562.500,00 (€ 479.008,77).
