The work Study for 'Tilba Tilba' by Elaine Haxton was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in August 2005. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 2,629.00 (€ 1,602.13), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Haxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double Bay in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).

Die Arbeit Study for 'Tilba Tilba' von Elaine Haxton wurde im August 2005 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 2.629,00 (€ 1.602,13) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double Bay im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37).
