The »bidding war« ended at AUD 2,629.00 (€ 1,602.13), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Haxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double Bay in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 2.629,00 (€ 1.602,13) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double Bay im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37).
