Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Night On The El Train by Edward Hopper was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2021. The price achieved of USD 187,500.00 (€ 155,860.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Hopper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chop Suey in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 91,875,000.00 (€ 81,140,157.20).
