Auction result well in line with expectations
The work weights and measures by Edmund de Waal was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,357.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund de Waal - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A short history of the shadow, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).
