Auction result well in line with expectations
The work give me the splendid, silent sun by Edmund de Waal was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in October 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,885.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund de Waal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A short history of the shadow in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit give me the splendid, silent sun von Edmund de Waal wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.885,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund de Waal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A short history of the shadow im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 137.741,48).
