The work A short history of the shadow by Edmund de Waal was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in October 2019. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48), 19% above the upper estimate. With this result, A short history of the shadow is even the most expensive work of art by Edmund de Waal that we have observed at auctions so far.
