Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Estrella Amarilla by Edgar Negret was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2018. The auction ended at the price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,115.30), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Negret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aparato Mágico, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67).

Die Arbeit Estrella Amarilla von Edgar Negret kam im September 2018 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.115,30) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Negret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aparato Mágico beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67) versteigert wurde.
