Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Escalera by Edgar Negret was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 33,750.00 (€ 29,039.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Negret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aparato Mágico, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Escalera von Edgar Negret kam im September 2018 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 33.750,00 (€ 29.039,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Negret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aparato Mágico beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67) versteigert wurde.
