It achieved a price of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,090.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eadweard Muybridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 83,455.34).

Die Arbeit Selected Images (from Animal Locomotion) von Eadweard Muybridge kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.090,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eadweard Muybridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 83.455,34).
