Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in New York held the auction PhotographsSummer Cut, which included the work Plate 268 from "Animal Locomotion" by Eadweard Muybridge. The price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,266.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eadweard Muybridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 83,455.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion PhotographsSummer Cut durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plate 268 from "Animal Locomotion" von Eadweard Muybridge zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.266,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eadweard Muybridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 83.455,34).
