Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Images From "Animal Locomotion" by Eadweard Muybridge for USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,402.54). This price was achieved in the auction PhotographsSummer Edition at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eadweard Muybridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 83,455.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Selected Images From "Animal Locomotion" von Eadweard Muybridge für USD 6.375,00 (€ 5.402,54) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PhotographsSummer Edition bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eadweard Muybridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected plates from Animal Locomotion, 1871-1885 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 83.455,34).
