Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction 19TH & 20TH CENTURY PHOTOGRAPHS, which included the work Courtyard Of Akbar'S Palace. Futtehpore Sikree, C.1858-62 by John Murray. The price achieved of GBP 956.00 (€ 1,375.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Murray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pavillion and Mosque Attached to the Taj in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
