Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Great Panorama of the Taj Mahal, Agra by John Murray was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2001. The price achieved of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,434.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Murray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pavillion and Mosque Attached to the Taj, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
