The work Self Portrait as Kurt Cobain as Andy Warhol as Myra Hindley as Marilyn Monroe by Douglas Gordon was sold in the Contemporary Art Part II auction at Phillips in New York in May 2011. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 27,824.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Douglas Gordon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait Of You + Me (Elizabeth Taylor/National Velvet), which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 122,500.00 (€ 94,158.34).

Die Arbeit Self Portrait as Kurt Cobain as Andy Warhol as Myra Hindley as Marilyn Monroe von Douglas Gordon wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 27.824,15) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Douglas Gordon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait Of You + Me (Elizabeth Taylor/National Velvet) beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 122.500,00 (€ 94.158,34) versteigert wurde.
