Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Douglas Gordon could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Self Portrait of You + Me (Kurt Cobain) changed hands for USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,653.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Douglas Gordon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait Of You + Me (Elizabeth Taylor/National Velvet) in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 94,158.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Douglas Gordon konnte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Self Portrait of You + Me (Kurt Cobain) für USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.653,99) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00.
