Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Dau by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 26,000.00 – 34,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 27,600.00 (€ 16,626.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ayam2 Kesayangan: 1 A Miscellanea 1968-1978 in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 336,000.00 (€ 206,600.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Dau von Donald Stuart Leslie Friend wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 26.000,00 – 34.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 27.600,00 (€ 16.626,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Stuart Leslie Friend erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Ayam2 Kesayangan: 1 A Miscellanea 1968-1978 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 336.000,00 (€ 206.600,16).
