Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work A Dream (Bali) by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend for GBP 750.00 (€ 867.98). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ayam2 Kesayangan: 1 A Miscellanea 1968-1978 in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 336,000.00 (€ 206,600.16).
