It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,611.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Don McCullin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shell-shocked US Marine, The Battle of Hue, which sold at auction in May 2019 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,298.50).

Die Arbeit The Battlefields of the Somme, France von Don McCullin wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.611,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Für andere Arbeiten von Don McCullin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shell-shocked US Marine, The Battle of Hue beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.298,50) versteigert wurde.
