This artwork by Don McCullin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in July 2021. In the In the Studio of Paolo Roversi auction, the work Shell-shocked US Marine, Hue south vietnam, 1968 sold for EUR 8,190.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Don McCullin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shell-shocked US Marine, The Battle of Hue, which sold at auction in May 2019 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,298.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Don McCullin erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion In the Studio of Paolo Roversi wurde die Arbeit Shell-shocked US Marine, Hue south vietnam, 1968 für EUR 8.190,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Don McCullin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shell-shocked US Marine, The Battle of Hue beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.298,50) versteigert wurde.
