This artwork by Domoto Hisao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. In the Brushwork II – All The World’s a Stage auction, the work without title sold for HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 132,790.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 640,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Domoto Hisao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Painting 1960-14 sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 1,875,000.00 (€ 219,049.99).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Domoto Hisao erzielte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Brushwork II – All The World’s a Stage wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 132.790,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 640.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Domoto Hisao; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Painting 1960-14 im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.875.000,00 (€ 219.049,99).
