In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Grief by Dmitri Baltermants. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,553.50 (€ 2,432.80), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Dmitri Baltermants have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grief (Ditch of Kertsch) in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,114.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grief von Dmitri Baltermants zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.553,50 (€ 2.432,80) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dmitri Baltermants auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grief (Ditch of Kertsch) im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.114,76).
